SP Star is a Chinese-Japanese joint manufacturer that emerged in 2020 out of a previous design studio background, making them one of the newer independent factories to establish a genuine foothold in the enthusiast market. They've built their reputation quickly on the back of well-received releases like the Meteor and Magic Girl lines — solid, affordably priced switches that punch above their weight — and have demonstrated verified independent manufacturing rather than operating as a rebrand of an existing factory, which gives them a credibility that newer brands don't always have.
